WELCOME MESSAGE

Japan’s Second Big Data Machine Learning Event in Healthcare- Datathon@Kyoto

It is a great pleasure to announce to you our second big data analytical course in Japan at the Kyoto International Congress Center during March 8 to 10, 2019. Our first attempt at Tokyo in 2018 had a large success and has ignited great enthusiasm for this field continuously spreading like wildfire throughout Japan. In Kyoto, we anticipate many data scientists and critical-care experts to get together and decipher big data extracted from various ICU-derived electronic medical records. In Tokyo and other previous events, it was amazing to see many participants that initially did not know one another instantly connect and by the end of the event become so close that they still remain in contact for developing new projects such as ongoing collaborative research.
The steering committee and I have already started to make plans for the full Datathon in Kyoto. We will again invite experts from the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, as well as newcomers. We hope this event will function as a catalyst for the development of an integrated multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, system engineers, statisticians, industries, venture capitalists and other professionals. As always, our ultimate goal is to work as a team to optimize patient care at the bedside by means of artificial intelligence and machine learning with big data. We look forward to welcoming you all to Kyoto’s early spring, with a splash of its upbeat atmosphere.

Big Data Machine Learning in Healthcare in Japanを開催させていただくことになりました。
